Right-to-Left (RTL) Support
Uisce automatically supports right-to-left languages like Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, and Urdu. You don't need to change any settings — it just works.
What it looks like
When an RTL language is active, the entire layout mirrors. Toggle between LTR and RTL to see everything flip — navigation, text alignment, breadcrumbs, and content order:
English (LTR)
How it works
When a customer views your store in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, or Urdu, Shopify sets the active locale for that session. Uisce checks the locale and mirrors the entire layout automatically — you don't need to enable a setting or add anything extra.
What changes
Everything flips:
| Element | LTR (English) | RTL (Arabic) |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Reads left to right | Reads right to left |
| Navigation | Links flow left → right | Links flow right → left |
| Sidebar / filters | Left side | Right side |
| Cart drawer | Slides in from the right | Slides in from the left |
| Breadcrumbs | Home → Collection → Product | المنتج ← المجموعة ← الرئيسية |
| Slider arrows | ← back, → forward | → back, ← forward |
How to preview RTL
- Go to Settings > Languages in your Shopify admin.
- Publish an RTL language (Arabic works well for testing).
- Preview your store and switch to that language using the language selector.
Tips
- You don't need to do anything. RTL support is built into every section and component. If you ever sell to RTL markets, you're ready.
- RTL adds no extra weight. Stores using left-to-right languages aren't affected at all — no extra files or styles are loaded.
